Dr. Cynthia Sloan is a board-certified neurologist at United Regional Physician Group.

Dr. Sloan is originally from the Midwest and received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Youngstown State University in her hometown of Youngstown, OH. Her medical degree education was completed in Chicago, IL, where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from Midwestern University. She completed her internship and neurology residency at Columbia Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital and Medical Center in Olympia Fields, IL. She moved to the Houston area in 1998 and continued in private practice until moving to URPG in 2020.

She diagnoses and treats all forms and varieties of adult neurological conditions and diseases. She has a special interest in epilepsy, migraines, nerve disorders, and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s. Dr. Sloan provides various diagnostic tests, including EEG, and EMG with nerve conduction studies. She provides Botox for migraine headaches and VNS for epilepsy.

Dr. Sloan says it’s a privilege to help her patients understand their symptoms and conditions and to provide peace and comfort for them and their families through education. For example, Dr. Sloan is an advocate of a specialized device treatment that can help stop seizures, shorten their duration, or prevent the patient from having to go to the Emergency Room. “It’s remarkable when patients have a big breakthrough with their medications or in their condition. It’s such a blessing to the doctor and the patient.”

Outside of work, Dr. Sloan loves spending time with her two dogs, cooking, and watching sports. Even though she lives in Wichita Falls, she’s still going to cheer for her Houston Texans and Rockets.
