Heather Clark, MD

Family Medicine

Dr. Heather Clark is a Family Medicine provider with United Regional Physician Group.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Clark went on to Penn State College of Medicine where she earned her MD. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Prior to medical school, Dr. Clark studied at Johns Hopkins School of Education and worked as a high school science teacher and was a member of Teach for America in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Clark’s interest in medicine began with her love for animals and her desire to become a veterinarian. Through her work as a Veterinary Tech in her teenage years, she realized how much she valued communication as an aspect of care and turned her focus to taking care of people. She has a strong desire to help others and finds practicing medicine personally rewarding when she can help others solve their health problems.

Dr. Clark chose Wichita Falls because she felt right at home here. She shared, “There is a palpable sense of community here, with people caring about their neighbors and working together to lift one another up.” In addition to the strong sense of community, Dr. Clark is excited to be close to her family in the North Texas area.

Dr. Clark’s background in teaching influences her style of treating patients and she highly values open communication and shared decision making. Her style of delivering care as a collaboration toward better health for her patients is what she believes sets her apart as a provider. She says, “It’s extremely rewarding to be able to counsel a patient about how certain habits may be affecting their health and give them the knowledge and encouragement to empower them, to start taking steps towards better health.”

In her free time, Dr. Clark likes to exercise, garden, attempt DIY projects in her home, learn about the stock market, and take care of her cats. She also loves documentaries and is always looking for recommendations of what to watch next.
