Dr. Kent Russell is a family medicine physician at United Regional Physician Group who brings a holistic approach to his patients.
He began his undergraduate education at Oklahoma Baptist University, and earned his degree from Texas Wesleyan. He went to medical school at Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee and completed his residency in Oklahoma City at Saint Anthony Hospital.
During residency, Dr. Russell felt a pull toward family medicine because he was interested in taking a full-family approach. He believed he could better serve families with the opportunity to treat his patients from birth to death. Dr. Russell is dedicated to a holistic approach to medicine by building up the mind, body, and spirit. When all three are in line, Dr. Russell believes patients will lead happier, healthier lives. He works actively with his staff to build trust and confidence so that his patients feel empowered. As an osteopathic physician, he is trained in manual medicine, which is a combination of massage therapy and chiropractic work to help align the body.
Dr. Russell is an advocate for the people he treats, and shares with them the same goal of improving their health and quality of life by focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.
Outside of work, Dr. Russell’s life revolves around his family. He and his wife, Lauren, have two daughters. They cherish the playful moments with their children and are very active in a variety of athletics and swimming-related activities, even preparing for sprint triathlons. Dr. Russell is a former college baseball player.
