Parker Short is a Certified Physician Assistant (PA) in family medicine who is dedicated to helping protect the health of the community he loves.
Short earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX, and a Master’s in Business Administration at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. While initially working in hospital administration, Parker decided to switch to a career in direct patient care and earned his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Parker was confident that he would one day have a career in healthcare but did not decide to pursue a career in medicine until the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic. He decided to pursue family medicine after working with URPG Family Medicine Physician Dr. Russell during clinical rotations. He was inspired by Dr. Russell’s passion for medicine and patient care.
As a Family Medicine PA, Short is excited to form meaningful and collaborative relationships with his patients. He hopes that these relationships will allow him to perform more preventative medicine rather than reactionary medicine and help his patients maintain a high quality of life.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two corgis, golfing, reading, playing guitar, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
