Tonya Turner is a Family Nurse Practitioner at United Regional Physicians Group, specializing in Family Practice. Turner earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. Turner went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain College of Nursing.
She describes herself as a people person and says, “When I can make a difference in improving one’s health either medicinally or spiritually, it brings me joy.” Initially practicing Women’s Health, Turner pivoted to Family Practice because, for her, being an advocate in health care is about treating the whole family. Her passion is making a difference in the lives of others, including the people she works with. She believes focusing on increasing morale with her staff and creating a positive culture in the workplace impacts the care she provides to her patients.
She has enjoyed life with her husband, Thaddeus, since they were teenagers. Together, they have three children, four grandchildren, and five fur babies. She likes to work in her family’s pizza restaurant, Chicago Pizza Kitchen, spend time with her grandchildren, and travel to new destinations in her free time.
